Golden Collective Matrimony - Part 1

The Armory was filled with love on a gorgeous Spring day in downtown Quincy. Two of the best, Patrick and Emily, tied the knot and inspired us with their love story. This couple also inspires us to be proud of where we’re from through their brand, Golden Collective. The wedding’s atmosphere was colorful, whimsical, and bright. The food? Well, let me tell you about it.

Patrick and Emily were open to ideas for their wedding reception menu. We discussed a variety of options, but there was one specific menu item that was called out to me. You see, Patrick and Emily had been enjoying Boki’s Kitchen long before their engagement, and one of their favorite meals had been the lasagna. They loved our suggestion of Boki’s Pasta Bar, and away we went with planning a wonderful meal for their special day.

Friends and family from near and far gathered to see the happy couple exchange vows. The ceremony was sweet, classic, and it brought a few *happy* tears to my eyes. A celebratory cocktail hour between the ceremony and reception was so fun for guests! We served delicious appetizers including soft pretzel bites and white-corn tortilla chips served with rich and luscious nacho cheese. Guests enjoyed getting a small plate of their favorite cheese-covered goodies with a little salsa on the side.

As the reception started, the appetizers were cleared, and dinner was set up! It was time for Boki’s Pasta Bar to be enjoyed. As guests came through the double buffet line, the smell of lasagna wafted to the front of the line. After choosing between our house made Caesar salad or a fresh garden vegetable salad, guests moved down the pasta bar. People loved having choices of lasagna, fettuccine alfredo with grilled chicken, and baked pasta marinara. Topping off that plate with a piece of warm garlic bread, it was a delicious dinner to celebrate such a wonderful couple. Patrick and Emily left no detail behind as they planned. They handled their own table service (plates, cutlery, and napkins), and chose really nice pieces that were disposable, yet sturdy for the robust, hot pasta that was enjoyed by all.

Bob and I enjoyed feeding the crowd for this special occasion! We were able to visit with some familiar faces, and the outpour of love and compliments about the food was well-received. From the first bite to the last dish put away, it was a spectacular celebration for the best couple. We enjoyed being a crucial part of Patrick and Emily’s day, and it was one of the first Boki’s Pasta Bars at a wedding reception. Talk about nerve-wracking, but overall, it was a hit! Since then, we’ve prepared a few other pasta bars and are excited about upcoming lasagna reservations.

Whether it be pasta calling your name, or any custom wedding menu, Boki’s Kitchen is here to make wedding catering and celebrations unforgettable and stress-free. They have options for the whole family, and be sure to check out other vendors there too! We will forever be gushing over one of the sweetest couples there is— Patrick and Emily! Cheers to many wonderful years together!
