For me, this event represents something bigger than just another catering gig. It's about connection. It's about honoring the farmers who grow the food we serve, and the families who sit down to eat it together. There's something special about seeing everyone in one place, sharing a meal, catching up on life.

The Adams County Fair is pure energy. It’s wholesome, lively, and full of fun. There's nothing like the hum of the fairgrounds during fair week. Between preparing meals, running dairy shows, and keeping the milkshake stand going strong, I’ve worn lots of different hats this week. So pull up a lawn chair like we’re sitting in our corner of the dairy barn, and let me tell you about this past fair week through the lens of three roles that mean the world to me.

New and beautiful faces have been visiting our blog, so a heartfelt and proper introduction feels necessary.

Our name, “Boki’s” (pronounced “beau-keys”), is a combination of our names: Bob and Niki. We’ve been Boki’s Kitchen since 2022, and before that we were known as K-Bob’s Country Cuisine and Kathy Neisen Catering. Our operation was established in 1989.

No man hating over here! We want to showcase the guys who make Boki’s a reality. From the man who has supported these women since the ‘80’s to our namesake, Tom and Bob make Boki’s Kitchen everything it is to this day.

The recipes at Boki’s Kitchen may be a little different, but our secret, core ingredients have remained the same: Love, Resilience, and Community.

FFA brought many great people to my life… and now it allows me to keep connecting humans over wholesome meals.
